About SPB Business Solutions

At SPB Business Solutions, we believe the biggest barrier to entrepreneurship isn't a lack of ideas, it's a lack of clear information. Many small business owners dive into the "doing" only to find themselves overwhelmed by the paperwork. Choosing a business structure, maintaining compliance, and protecting a brand can feel like a maze. SPB Business Solutions was founded to simplify that journey.

We aren't just a filing service, we are a consulting boutique built on the belief that informed entrepreneurs make informed decisions throughout their business journey.

We lead with education. By hosting monthly webinars on the SCORE Los Angeles platform and through New Economics for Women, we cover asset protection, tax obligations, business structures, business insurance, and more, ensuring you understand the why behind every decision before you ever sign a document.

Our goal is not only to ensure legal entities are properly set up, but that entrepreneurs have a solid foundation and professional appearance — structured, protected, and ready to pitch, sell, and grow.

Business Formation

We guide you through selecting the right entity — LLC, DBA, Corporation, Partnership, or Nonprofit 501(c)(3) — and handle all filings with the appropriate federal, state, and local agencies. A proper legal foundation is the first step to being taken seriously.

Protection

Licenses, permits, business insurance, trademarks, NDAs, service agreements, and operating agreements, the contractual and legal safeguards that protect your business, your brand, and your personal assets.

Digital Presence

A professional digital footprint is how the world vets you. We help you establish a professional website, business email, business phone, physical or registered address, branding, and directory listings, everything needed for a polished, credible presence.

Contract Bidding

We help you secure SBE, MBE, WBE, veteran, and other set-aside certifications, build a compelling Capability Statement, and guide you through registering on bidding platforms, understanding RFQs, pricing strategies, and submitting winning proposals.

Client Solutions

Back-office support, project oversight, talent acquisition, onboarding, programming, compliance, and networking support, tailored solutions that keep your operations running and your business moving forward.

Educational Webinars

Free monthly live sessions hosted on the SCORE Los Angeles platform and through New Economics for Women, covering business formation, certifications, contract bidding, asset protection, tax obligations, and more.

About Sonia Burke

Certified Small Business Consultant · Licensed Insurance Producer · Entrepreneur · Community Leader

Sonia Burke — SPB Business Solutions

Meet Sonia Burke

Sonia Burke was born and raised in California — a proud mom of two young men and a glamMom to three beautiful grandbabies. Entrepreneurship has always been in her DNA. She launched her career as the owner and operator of a catering business, which she ran successfully for eight years. During that time, she pursued her passion for real estate and became a licensed real estate agent in 2004.

When the real estate market and broader economy took a significant downturn in 2007, Sonia pivoted and joined the corporate world as a Client Solutions Specialist at Disney Studios, where she thrived for 12 years. Throughout this time, she never lost her deep commitment to community — launching a mentoring program for teens in foster care, planting seeds of hope and opportunity where they were needed most.

"She saw the potential in people that they hadn't yet seen in themselves — and made it her mission to help them claim it."

When the pandemic brought the world to a halt, Sonia embraced the opportunity to reinvent herself. She pivoted to community engagement as the Director of Partnerships at the Culver City Chamber of Commerce, serving the business community with dedication. With an unwavering love for entrepreneurship, she stepped out on her own — launching SPB Business Solutions, a boutique business consulting firm specializing in business formation and client solutions for micro to small business owners.

As her work deepened, so did her awareness of the financial vulnerabilities many families face. Having heard far too many heartbreaking stories — families unprepared for the loss of a loved one with no plan in place, no funeral coverage, no assets in a trust, no disability protection when the state couldn't provide it — she took action. Sonia obtained her insurance license and began educating families about the life-changing importance of life insurance and financial preparedness as a legacy-building tool every family deserves to understand.

From there, her work expanded into Medicare services for the senior community and supplemental benefit solutions for county employees, ensuring those who dedicate their lives to others are equally protected and informed.

"Sonia Burke doesn't just build businesses — she builds futures. Her story is proof that purpose, pivots, and perseverance can transform not just one life, but an entire community."

Today, Sonia leads SPB Business Solutions as a Certified Small Business Consultant (AASBC) and Licensed Insurance Producer, bridging entrepreneurship and financial literacy with a heart for service and a commitment to community-based transformation.
